Prominence of Om in Different Art Forms

The word Om has a deeper essence and this is the reason that its influence has spilled over to the followers of different religions too

 

The word Om is significant for mostly two religions that are Hinduism and Sikhism, but the significance of this word is much deeper impact and is followed and incorporated by people outside this two particular religion also. In Hinduism the word said to have emerged from Upanishads which is the collection of Sanskrit literature. In Hinduism it is commonly believed that when mankind was created the divine, who is supposed to encompass all consciousness, took the form of the first sound in the form of vibration. This vibration and sound manifested itself in a form of ‘Om’. The vibration of Om in a way manifests the existence of God and is the reflection of the reality. Similar in Sikhism and Buddhism the word embodies the existence of the whole universe. 

The word is associated and is considered being scared and purifying in the countries such as India and Nepal. In these countries, the word could be noticed at temples, door steps, names and also commonly in form of jewelries such as Om charm bracelets, pendent, rings, and others. The word’s significance as religiously motivating and peace giving makes it commonly adorned by people who are followers of these above mentioned religions and others. This is the reason this word is been projected in several different ways, such as: 

• Jewellery: as aforementioned Om is the most familiar as jewellery design, one reason is because it is associated with the concept of peace and consider being soothing. Secondly, due to the reason that Om is trendy and taken to be a style icon.

• Paintings and home décor: The same reasons apply to this section also.  The Om is most sorted after aspect when someone is search of soothing painting in the house, plus it is consider being auspicious for the home and its surrounding environment.

• Tattoo: Getting Om inked in the body is the trendiest thing in this generation. Not only in the Indian subcontinent but also in the rest of the world. Om as tattoo is mostly commonly noticed in the bodies of the Hollywood stars.

This makes evident the influence of the beautiful word Om which is being clearly depicted in different Om charm bracelets, other Om jewellery, paints, tattoos and several other things.
